Fugitive former Ako Bicol representative Zaldy Co has been arrested in Prague, Czech Republic, for alleged involvement in a flood control corruption scandal. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. confirmed the arrest and stated that the Philippines is coordinating with Czech authorities for his extradition. Co was allegedly the mastermind behind budget irregularities and is accused of benefiting from billions of pesos in government projects through his company, Sunwest. He had been in hiding since July 2025 and faces graft and malversation cases.
